Tighter and even more austere than the '16 Beauroy owing to the recent bottling but very pure and sharply chiseled, conveying a tactile, chewy quality to its flavors of underripe pineapple, grapefruit zest and crushed stone. This uncompromising wine is most impressive today on its whiplash of a finish. Lay this one down."
